Natural Beta Caryophyllene isolated terpene
Beta Caryophyllene is an aroma chemical that is produced from natural and synthetic sources. Natural beta caryophyllene is present in a variety of aromatic plants that produce essential oils.
Clove leaf oil and Bay oils just to name a few. However, the commercial natural source for Beta Caryophyllene is usually from clove leaf oil that is further processed (through vacuum fractional distillation) to separate, purify and enrich other materials that are then used in flavoring, pharmaceuticals and fragrances.
These include materials like Eugenol and Iso-Eugenol; often the blame for the aroma at your favorite dentist office. Beta caryophyllene has a clove like aroma with a slightly astringent spicy taste. Several case studies have attributed this natural terpene to be sedative in nature often considered the responsible couch lock active.
It is important to note the cloves and other spices like cloves containing Eugenol and Beta Caryophyllene can be found in many products that we consume regularly either as a spice, sauce, alcoholic beverages, TV dinner, cookie, or Christmas candy.
What are Isolated Terpenes?
Isolated terpenes are aromatic compounds that are largely responsible for the smell and taste of many things.
With that said, the community thinks of them solely as a source of aroma and flavor in their favorite strain of flowers. However, there are a number of possible applications for terpenes that are unknown to many people who consider themselves a flower connoisseur.
